Course Overview

Explore theory & in-depth skin analysis which is both hands on & device driven.

Develop the ability to perform detailed skin evaluations, identify underlying concerns, and recommend evidence-based solutions.

The course is designed to:

Describe the anatomy and physiology of the skin, including cellular structure and layers.
Explain the skin’s key functions, such as protection, thermoregulation, sensation, and regeneration.
Identify intrinsic and extrinsic factors that affect skin health (e.g., genetics, hormones, lifestyle, environment, aging).
Differentiate between common skin types and conditions (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, acneic, aging, pigmented).
Interpret findings to design personalized skincare programs and professional treatment protocols.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding their skin health and realistic outcomes.

Requirements

Skin Deep is intended for medical professionals, estheticians and cosmetologists in or entering a medical aesthetics environment.

Attendees are required to have a current medical license or current license with the GA State Board of Cosmetology. Attendees must be present for full class instruction to receive a Certificate of Completion.

Meet Your Trainer

Jennifer Young

As a licensed instructor Ms. Young has been an aesthetician since 2006 and an instructor since 2009. She has a wealth of experience in esthetic school operations, all aspects of student affairs and training, regulatory compliance, state board guidelines, levels of tier management, school admissions, student retention, and COE guidelines. Her expertise in these areas has made her a key figure in the Atlanta area for esthetic school management and training.

Her knowledge of esthetic equipment is boundless, combined with her teaching skills – imparts the learner with comprehensive and thorough command of equipment as well as product integration. Her philosophy in training parallels both critical thinking and comprehensive reasoning with an emphasis on instructor – student communication.
